What is MyPlate?
MyPlate gives you a description of the five food groups that are needed for a healthy diet using a plate to demonstrate. We encourage you before you eat, think about what is on your plate, in you cup or in your bowl. Is it healthy? Am I eating a healthy meal? Will this food help or hurt my health?
Examples of ONE Day using my plate:
Breakfast:
Fruit: Apple
Protein: Almonds
Grains: Bagel
Dairy: Glass of Milk
Snack:
Dairy and Fruit: Yogurt with Mixed Fruits
Lunch:
Fruit: Strawberry
Protein: Grilled Chicken
Grains: Brown Rice
Vegetables: Green Beans
Glass of Water
Snack:
Vegetables: Baby Carrots
Dairy: Cubes cheese
Dinner:
Vegetables: Broccoli
Protein: Baked Chicken
Grains: Toast
*8 glasses of water a day*
